Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. The bulletin also calls it Christian Initiation.
Is this for you?
OCIA is for adults who:
- have not been baptized; or
- were baptized but still need First Communion, Confirmation, or both.
If you are not sure which sacraments you received, call anyway. We can work that out together, and it is more common than you would think.
To join
Call the Catechism Center at (619) 422-1887.
The parish and Catechism Center telephone numbers are on the parish schedule.
The days and times the group meets, and the date each cycle begins, are given to you by the Catechism Center when you call.
There is a group in English and one in Spanish
The English group is OCIA; the Spanish group is OICA. They are two separate groups. Say which language you would rather prepare in when you call.
